Sony has introduced a new line of PlayStation 5 accessories called the Prism Collection, which features transparent controllers and console covers. This collection revives the popular transparent design trend of the late 1990s in a modern way for DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers, allowing users to see some of the internal components.

The Prism Collection will be launched in three colors: red, green, and gray-blue. Pre-orders for these products will begin on November 10 through the online PlayStation store and select retailers, with their official release scheduled for February 4, 2027. Sony has priced the DualSense wireless controllers in this collection at $84.99 and the console covers at $74.99.

According to a post published by Sony on the official PlayStation blog, the creation of this new collection was inspired by the design teams' desire to give the PlayStation 5 a transparent look, letting players take a closer look at the design and craftsmanship used in the DualSense controllers and PS5 consoles.

Earlier this year, Microsoft also introduced a special edition to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Xbox, featuring a semi-transparent green body for the console and certain accessories, inspired by the design of the original Xbox console.
