- Google has released the November update for Googlebooks, bringing 30 fixes to Googlebook OS.

- This update frees up 3GB to 6GB of RAM by reducing memory usage for on-device AI.

- The update also fixes USB microphones not working, issues with DRM-enabled video on monitors, and bootloops when interrupting updates.

Google has released a few fixes on Googlebooks following their launch last month, but the platform’s latest update brings dozens of fixes and improvements. And it’s rolling out right now.

Google announced the Googlebook November update on Reddit and the Googlebook Help Center, and it includes 30 fixes and improvements. You’re also getting the November 2026 security patch.

Perhaps the biggest improvement is that Google has freed up 3GB to 6GB of RAM by effectively reducing RAM usage for on-device AI. The firm adds that this should make for improved multitasking on laptops with 16GB of RAM. The firm is also bringing improved performance when running heavy browser tab workloads, reducing cases of tabs reloading and crashing.

Other Googlebook fixes in this update

There’s more to this update than performance-related fixes, though. Some of the more notable problems addressed include unresponsive keyboard/trackpad inputs when using convertibles, the Wallpaper and Style app freezing, crashes when using various effects in Zoom, a black screen when playing DRM-protected video on a monitor, external USB microphones not working, and bootloops when an update is interrupted.

Other fixes include reduced audio lag when using Bluetooth earphones, Bluetooth LE mice reconnecting reliably after device restarts, several Linux Terminal fixes, and more reliable 60fps HDR video playback.

The November Googlebook update has the version number CL3B.260622.286.R2 and I can confirm that it’s already available on my ASUS Googlebook. You can check for the update by tapping Settings > System > Software updates > System update.
